I was 14 when I first became interested in railroading back in 1957, when my Dad’s posting took the family to Prince Rupert B.C. My “moment of epiphany” came when the engineer on a switch engine invited me up in the cab whilst working a rail barge. We returned to Seattle in 1959. School, the Air Force, and marriage conspired to diminish my interest in trains. The deathblow came in 1970 with “The Great Merger,” and massive fleet re-numberings. Now retired, I have time to open long ago stored boxes of photos, slides and negatives, and share these memories with you!
